Raising Future Adults is the brainchild of a licensed school psychologist with over two decades of experience working with children, parents, and educators. Drawing from a wealth of knowledge and research, the author has crafted practical and effective strategies for raising children in today's world.
Early in my career working with children with severe emotional and behavioral disorders, I saw firsthand how often parents lacked clear guidance. Many families were overwhelmed with conflicting advice, especially as more content was being produced by influencers, Tik-Tokers and AI. This experience motivated me to develop practical, research-based strategies that parents could actually use at home.
After graduating from Nova Southeastern University with a Master's in Psychology and Specialist in School Psychology, he worked in a private elementary school collaborating with teachers, parents and other professionals to determine effective interventions for academic, behavioral or social concerns.
During this time David received his license in school psychology from the state of Florida and transitioned from working within a school to earning employment within a multidisciplinary team of other mental health professionals in which he specialized in the following:
-
Psychological testing
-
Generating individualized interventions for children
-
Collaborating with teachers and parents to ensure positive gains
-
Therapy focusing on teaching children how to better identify and cope with symptoms of ADHD, autism, learning disorders, anxiety and depression.
David has presented to schools, parents and administrators as well as professional workshops on topics such as "anxiety and learning", "finding strategies that work for children and adults with ADHD" and "building social skills in children and teens." Other focuses include raising resilient children, emotional regulation and healthy ways to cope with anxiety.
He currently lives in South Florida with his family and enjoys going to and playing live music, exercising, reading and spending time with family and friends. David continues to grow his knowledge as a parenting expert by not only living the experience as a father of two (currently teenage) children but by keeping up with relevant parenting trends, evolving factors that impact children and families and connecting with parenting groups throughout the world.
