Tip of the Day

Read below for today's tip when parenting gets stressful

Teenage couple

Admit when you're wrong...

Many children come into my office all up in arms about their parent never wanting to admit when they've made a mistake. When we discuss further and eventually have the parent and child together, tempers are not as hot and restorative practice can begin. Even if you're right, it's okay to even state that you could've communicated or reacted differently. This is not only great modeling for your child to also admit when they've made mistakes or done things they shouldn't have but also for strengthening the relationship and teaching your children that mistakes are part of life and we can recover, learn from them and move on.
